Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Peek ("Peek", "we", "us", or "our") and govern your use of the Peek mobile app and website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use the Service.
- You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating and maintaining your account.
2. User Conduct
You are solely responsible for the content you post and the way you interact with other members. You agree not to post content that is offensive, harassing, or illegal, and you agree not to harass, stalk, threaten, or impersonate another person. We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we determine, in our reasonable judgment, pose a risk to the safety of our community.
3. Safety and Interactions
Peek does not conduct criminal background checks on its members, and verification on the Service confirms only that a profile belongs to a real person — it is not a guarantee of someone's identity, intentions, or safety. You are solely responsible for your own interactions with other users, both in the app and in person, including at any GroupUp events. Exercise the same caution you would with anyone you meet online, and meet in public places when getting together in person.
4. Subscriptions and Billing
- Subscription prices are shown in the app or on our website before you purchase, in the currency applicable to your region, and may be subject to taxes.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before that period ends.
- If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play, your subscription is billed and managed by Apple or Google, and you must cancel it through your Apple ID or Google Play account settings — we cannot cancel or refund it directly. Refunds for app store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies.
- If you subscribe directly through our website, you may manage or cancel your subscription from your account settings, subject to the terms shown at the time of purchase.
- We may change subscription pricing or features going forward; changes will not retroactively alter what you already paid for in a current billing period.
5. GroupUp Events
GroupUp events are operated in partnership with CrowdSurge. When you host or attend a GroupUp event, you are responsible for your own conduct and safety at that event, the same as with any other in-person meetup arranged through the Service.
6. Content and Intellectual Property
You retain ownership of the content you post (such as photos and messages), but you grant Peek a license to host, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service — for example, showing your profile photo to other users. The Peek name, logo, and app are our property and may not be used without our permission.
7. Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app's Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in behavior that threatens the safety of other users, or for other reasonable cause.
8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peek is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including your interactions with other users or attendance at any GroupUp event.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario for any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other reasonable means before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
